With a view to running a full commercial Slovenian Tour in 2018, I and a group of friends set off across Slovenia last week.
Starting at Lendava, close to the Hungarian border, we gradually made our way across this beautiful country.
Stopping at Maribor, Lake Bled, and a number of other great locations, we really felt the tour was a great success, AND will definitely be an awesome, long term fixture on the ACT calendar. Slovenia is so friendly, beautiful, clean and interesting. Its almost as though its the forgotten corner of Europe, but I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Plus, we had some amazing meals there as well. One in particular stands out. The evening at the Majerija. Its a magical place, set in the middle of vineyards, where a Slovenia couple have made a small piece of paradise. Rooms set underground, so as not to spoil the local scenery, the food is just divine. Everyone loved the place. I have already booked it for 2018 !
So don’t delay. The cycling is excellent. The country awesome, and the food amazing. You WILL fall in love with Slovenia.
