After our soggy day yesterday, it was a great relief to wake up this morning to brighter skies. A bit of bike fettling before we began – oiling, blowing up tyres, cleaning all the mud and grit off from yesterday – and we were off again!
Oh dear – unfortunately we had to have an early stop as someone, who will remain nameless (oops, Kim!!) had forgotten to take their cleat covers off…
As promised, here are some pictures of the team and everyone’s steeds.

Today was a lovely ride with stunning scenery. We started in Galway, but cycled through tiny green tracks past Lough Corrib, then over the Maam Cross mountain pass and down to Lough Mask.
Again, as a public service feature for future Ireland E2E clients, here is a handy guide to road signs that you will encounter in Ireland, with their meanings.

Ian’s dreadful pun of the day, on seeing several donkeys on our way past:
“They were clearly prize donkeys.”
“Why?”
“Because they were out standing in their field.” (Many groans as usual).
Due to the better weather, when asked about his & Peter’s bicycle bells today:
Richard: “Oh yes, they were ding dong today!”
