Day two started with a clear blue sky and anticipation of what Martyn had described as the “toughest” of Lejog. A relatively easy first 20 miles, then it was up to Dartmoor. Killer climbs…. Friendly ponies…..exhilarating downhills, and welcome sunshine, were the hallmarks of the next 46 miles. We ignored “Road Closed” signs as we approached Tiverton, but Ray’s diplomatic skills saw us safely to our overnight stop. Early evening sunshine accompanied by refreshing beer, and a “carbo-loaded” dinner, rounded off a demanding but rewarding day.
