THE SPANISH SIERRA’S   – A great adventure! Superb cycling over long warm days, through areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Spain is vast, with lots of open spaces and mountains. Nearly a fifth of Andalucia is protected, and many of these protected areas are called ‘Parque Naturals’, and are protected due to their unique wildlife and landscape. They are areas of great beauty and we cycle through three of them on this adventure. The Parque Natural Sierra de Hornachuelos, The Parque Natural de la Sierra de Andújar and the spectacular Parque Natural Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and the Villas.

We call it the Spanish Sierra’s Adventure – Seville to Murcia. An adventure through unique beautiful landscapes.

So PERFECT to kickstart your summer of cycling. 500 fascinating miles, through incredible countryside, in 7 days.

This is one of the warmest regions anywhere in Europe. It has a warm, Mediterranean climate with dry, hot summers and mild winters with infrequent precipitation, and LONG hours of sunshine.

This is a supported tour – at the start of the day, when the group sets off biking, your kit bag will be loaded into the support vehicle and transported to the next overnight halt.  The van will meet you to feed and water you, but you are free to cycle at your own pace, with the support vehicle never far away. We must stress that apart from the emergency tool kit and spares that you would take on any day ride, you will not be required to carry any luggage. Stunning scenery, atmospheric overnight accommodation and a magnificent route make this an unforgettable cycling holiday experience. Average 75 miles per day. ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD
This is a small hotel/B&B based holiday. Prices are based on sharing in twin rooms.
Single Supplement for this tour is £450. If opting to share, this must be with a friend or partner. If no one else is prepared to share with someone wanting a twin room, then the single supplement is payable. Ideally you should sign up with a friend to enable you to share a twin room. ACT is reluctant to allow strangers to share a twin room.

 

THE ROUTE
Starting off from close to Seville, the capital of Andalucia, we cycle north, up into  the beautiful The Parque Natural Sierra de Hornachuelos

Then cycling onwards in to Cordoba. Staying in our typical unique style of accommodation, including renovated Monasteries and historic buildings. From there we skirt the southern part of The Parque Natural de la Sierra de Andújar  ! Continuing eastwards we cycle up the spectaular Guadalquivir valley, in to the heart of the Parque Natural Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and the Villas.

Once through this area of natural beauty, we continue eastwards towards Murcia. 

Roads are quiet and great quality. Its  stunning part of Europe.

BIKES

WE CAN TRANSPORT YOUR BIKE IN A CUSTOMISED VAN SPECIALLY TRANSFORMED TO SAFELY CARRY YOUR VALUABLE BIKE !

We recommend a road bike with 25 to 32 mm tyres. Mountain bikes are NOT suitable. The most important thing is that the bike functions properly and that you are comfortable riding it. You should make sure that your bike has suitable gears as there are some steep hills on parts of the route.  You should also make sure that you are able to carry some spare food and extra clothing with you on the bike.
